About LCAT

LCAT Newsletters

Saludos!

As LCAT’s new executive director, allow me to thank you for your continuing support of this unique and vital organization.

As you may know, it has been a time of change at LCAT. Indeed, by the time you read this, we hope to have three or four new staff, as well as a livelier website, one that will be geared to, on the one hand, the needs of our Fellows, and, on the other, the health needs of our community.

That we have a new director and added staff does not mean that LCAT’s mission will change. In fact, LCAT will continue to combat and try to prevent the harms done to los nuestros by tobacco use and alcohol abuse.

As you may know, LCAT was founded in 1989 by two of our Board members, Drs. Marilyn Aguirre and Carlos Molina. In the years since, LCAT has compiled a long and distinguished record of service to the Latino community.

With your support, we will build on that record by standing firm with partners old and new, and by creating new coalitions and networks, to make sure that the voice of the Latino community is heard by one and all, and that the message is one that promotes the public health.

Of course, if we are to rid our communities of tobacco, and if we are to reduce the damage done by alcohol abuse, we can only do it by working together.

So whether you live in Oxnard or Providence or in the Texas Valley, I invite you to join with us in building on a long and great record. Join with us in promoting a healthier Latino community. Join with us in defending the interests and concerns of that community?our community, yours and mine.

Sí se puede!
